Multiverse announced on 27 January 2026 that it was acquiring StackFuel, a Berlin-based provider of data and AI training for businesses. The two companies said they plan to train 100,000 people in Germany in AI skills, though the announcement did not give a timeframe. The purchase price was not disclosed. Law firm Taylor Wessing said it advised Multiverse Group Limited and Multiverse GmbH on buying all shares in StackFuel GmbH.

StackFuel trains staff at large employers including Mercedes-Benz, IAV and Telefónica and reports a 92% completion rate on its programmes, according to the release. Its co-founders, chief executive Leo Marose and chief technology officer Stefan Berntheisel, are taking leadership roles in the combined business. Marose said 70% of German employees have not yet received AI training and that skills, rather than technology, are the main barrier.

Multiverse said its German entity already holds AZAV accreditation, which allows it to offer publicly funded training, and that it had been delivering programmes in Germany since 2025. Founder and chief executive Euan Blair said the deal marks the start of the next growth phase for both companies. Multiverse later said the acquisition was completed in January 2026.

Why it matters

The deal moves a large UK work-based training provider into Germany's corporate upskilling market, testing whether its apprenticeship-style AI and data model can transfer to another European funding system.
