The year in evidence, from the four WAC centres
Each WAC centre publishes a book-length annual report: a fully referenced review of the year's research, statistics and surveys on its field, with an original framework and recommendations. The first edition comes from the Centre for Skill Development.
Skills Gap Report 2025
The skills gap is less a shortage of talent than a failure to measure, recognize and build it
Read about the reportHow the annual reports are made
They are desk research on a large scale: hundreds of studies, official statistics and employer and worker surveys, read in full and synthesized by theme, region and sector. WAC ran no survey or trial for them, and they say so. Every chapter was checked against its sources by an independent fact checker before publication, and the strongest counter-evidence is included.
- Every figure linked to its source
- Independent fact check of each chapter
- Charts drawn from the cited data
- Recommendations for five audiences
Shorter reads from the same centres
