Abwaab, an education technology company based in Jordan, has acquired the Egyptian startup Eduact for an undisclosed amount, Wamda reported on September 1, 2026.

Eduact, founded in Egypt in 2020, provides a software-as-a-service platform that lets independent teachers and small learning centers manage video content, grading and payments and connect their workflows across in-person and online teaching. Abwaab plans to bring Eduact's technology and its relationships with Egyptian educators into its wider platform, and to use its own technology, content and regional distribution network to offer the product to more teachers and learning centers in Egypt and other markets. The deal extends Abwaab beyond digital learning aimed at students into technology infrastructure for educators.

Abwaab, founded in Jordan in 2019, offers online lessons matched to school curricula, along with assessments and related education services. At the time of the announcement it operated in six markets in the Middle East and North Africa. The transaction was its second acquisition of 2026. Earlier in the year it bought Apex Education, an Egypt-based company specializing in international university admissions, which took Abwaab into higher education preparation and admissions advisory. Daba Finance reported that the Apex Education deal took place in January.

Why it matters

The deal joins Abwaab's curriculum-aligned learning and assessment products with Eduact's tools for content, grading and payments, widening the company's reach from students to teachers and learning centers.
