How listings are chosen and checked
Each listing was checked against the organization’s own website in October 2026: the site had to load, show an education product or programme, and give a headquarters country. Descriptions are written by WAC. Organizations that had closed, been absorbed into another company, or were known for insolvency or scandal were left out. Being listed is not an endorsement, and listings are not paid for. Organizations connected to WAC are marked as such on their listing.
Startups are independent, venture or privately funded edtech companies founded roughly 2010 or later and not publicly listed. The Top 100 are among the largest and most established edtech companies worldwide (publicly listed companies and private companies of comparable scale), chosen for balance across regions and categories; they are listed alphabetically, not ranked.
