About National University of Singapore
The National University of Singapore traces its origins to 1905, when a group of local businessmen led by Tan Jiak Kim helped found a medical school that began with 23 students. It has since grown into a comprehensive university whose 15 colleges, faculties and schools cover the arts and social sciences, business, computing, design and engineering, law, medicine, dentistry, music, public health, public policy and science. Teaching and research take place across three campuses at Kent Ridge, Bukit Timah and Outram. For the 2025/26 academic year the university reports about 29,600 undergraduates and 15,400 graduate students, supported by some 2,700 faculty members and 4,800 research staff. Its programme range includes double, joint and concurrent degrees, many run with overseas partner universities, alongside graduate and lifelong learning provision.
