About Preply
Preply runs an online marketplace where learners book one-to-one video lessons with independent tutors, mainly for languages but also other subjects. Learners choose a tutor, agree on goals and book lessons on the web or mobile app, while AI tools support practice and progress tracking between sessions. The company says it has more than 100,000 tutors teaching 90-plus languages to learners in 180 countries. Through Preply Business it also sells tutor-led language programmes to employers. It was founded in 2012 by Kirill Bigai and Dmytro Voloshyn and has hubs in New York, London, Kyiv and Barcelona.
